TYPE OF LAWN headline

Ok, so hopefully you’ve thought about the questions we’ve asked. You now have more of an idea of the type of lawn you envision, in particular its look, shape, lawn traffic and shade. With that in mind let’s talk about all of the different varieties of lawn and see which is perfect for you.

One thing though. Australia is a hot, dry country and generally needs turf varieties that can cope with these conditions. This means warm climate varieties like Buffalo, Couch, Kikuyu and Zoysia. Cool season types like Fescue and Rye grass that are grown from seed generally do not work in most climatic parts of Australia, except for Tasmania.

For this reason the varieties listed here are available in Instant turf, the easiest way to establish lawn, or runners or Viro-Cells which will be explained later.
